Post Office, Floreana
This afternoon we stopped at Post Office. Many
years ago
someone started this tradition. People would
leave messages and
someone else passing through from that place
would pick it up
and deliver it.
Today people leave post cards and other
tourists to pick them up.
The rule is they are supposed to be hand
delivered. I forgot to take
one and since we didn't see one from Fort
Myers, we did not pick
up any. Several people did. One family who was
going to Asia picked
up a couple from Thailand and another place. I
wonder if they will
get
delivered.
Perhaps because people once inhabited this
island many of the native
animals are no longer here.
We tried to see sea turtles from the zodiak but
it wasn't easy. I saw
one only.
