Quito Day Two

July 28, 2013

We met up with our group today and went on a city tour.
We saw a lot of the old colonial city and it was very nice.
We went into a coupleof churches and a museum. Two
of the churches were made of lava rock. That's the first
time I remember seeing that.

There is one family of eight. I asked the ”matriarch“ if
it was a special occasion and she said a special birthday
for her and her husband. I would guess 80. The other 6
l think are 4 grandchildren and 2 greats. I thought the youngest
looked too young for this trip.

We then drove to the "equator".  We walked around between
the northern and soughern hemispheres and took pictures
straddling the imaginary line.
